Opal Connect Data Deletion Instructions

Opal Connect respects your privacy and provides a process for requesting deletion of personal information associated with your interactions through connected Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or other supported communication channels.

If you would like us to delete personal information associated with you from Opal Connect, please follow the instructions below.

How to Request Data Deletion

Send an email to:

Use the following subject line:

Opal Connect Data Deletion Request

In your email, please provide the information reasonably necessary for us to locate the relevant records.

Where applicable, include:

Your full name
Your Instagram, Facebook, or other platform username
The platform you used to contact us
The business or social media account you contacted
Your approximate conversation date, if known
A short statement requesting deletion of your personal information

Example:

Subject: Opal Connect Data Deletion Request

Message:

Hello,

I would like to request deletion of my personal information and conversation data processed through Opal Connect.

Platform: Instagram
Username: @yourusername
Business contacted: Opal Hotel Amman

Please delete the personal information associated with my interaction where applicable.

Thank you.

Verification of Your Request

To protect users from unauthorized deletion requests, we may ask you to provide reasonable information necessary to verify that you are the person associated with the requested data.

We will not request your Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp password.

What Information May Be Deleted

Depending on what information is stored and applicable legal requirements, a deletion request may include information such as:

Your profile name
Your username
Platform-specific identifiers
Contact records associated with Opal Connect
Messages and conversation records
Comments processed by Opal Connect
Message metadata
Conversation metadata
Other information associated with your interaction through Opal Connect

What Happens After a Request

After receiving and verifying a valid deletion request, we will review the information associated with the request and delete or anonymize applicable personal information where reasonably required.

Requests will be handled without undue delay and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Some information may need to be retained when reasonably necessary for:

Compliance with legal obligations
Fraud or security investigations
Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims
Resolving disputes
Maintaining records required by applicable law

Where information must be retained for one of these reasons, we will limit its use to the applicable purpose where reasonably practicable.

Disconnecting Opal Connect From Meta

If you have directly authorized or connected Opal Connect to your Meta account, you may also be able to remove the application through your Meta account settings.

For Facebook, Meta provides controls under Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, where connected apps may be removed. Removing an app stops the connection, although information previously provided to an app may still need to be deleted separately by contacting the developer.

Removing or disconnecting an application from Meta does not necessarily constitute a request to delete all information previously stored by Opal Connect.

If you want information stored by Opal Connect to be deleted, please also submit a deletion request using the email process described above.

Instagram and WhatsApp Communications

If you communicated with one of our businesses through Instagram or WhatsApp without directly authorizing Opal Connect as an application, you may still request deletion of information processed through Opal Connect by contacting:

Please include your platform username or other information that allows us to identify the relevant conversation.
